Our engagements begin with a comprehensive analysis of our Client’s business operations, the business and economic environment in which it operates, and its business plan. On new businesses (Start-ups), we assess the overall business plan.
We conduct financial analysis and run metrics to assess the company’s overall performance and trends, and benchmark them against those of competitors and industry standards. We also analyse the financial projections prepared by the Clients, and in most cases, prepare our own financial projections.
We analyze and assess on the accounting practices and structure of the business and the financial reporting in place. Based upon the findings, we make recommendations to restructure or optimize the accounting practices and policies. We may also guide and support management throughout the implementation of new strategies, practices and initiatives that shall improve financial statement presentation and reporting for analysis purposes.
Based on the results of our comprehensive business and financial analysis, we define a plan to pursue the financing. Our commercial banking experience and expertise allow us to conduct the same underwriting analysis that is performed by financing providers. We make sure to identify any weakness that may exist in the business operation, the business plan, and/or the financial structure, and discuss them with management to properly address beforehand as the circumstances may require. If necessary, we lead a process to cure any weaknesses over time and/or help prepare a mitigating plan before the transaction is presented.
Once we reach the comfort level with the commercial transaction and conclude that most, if not all, credit standards are met, we proceed to design the Financing Structure and to identify the financing providers that are most suited for the transaction. We then prepare the Financing Proposal that is presented to the potential financing providers. In the writeups, we make sure that all business strengths and competitive advantages are rightfully highlighted and all mitigating factors for the identified weaknesses are described.
If desired, we can also lead the presentation of the financing proposal, the question-and-answer process with the credit analysts and managers, and the negotiations of the financing structure and the most relevant terms and conditions.
Upon the approval of the transaction, we advance the closing process until the financing transaction is completed.
